I'd love to have a quickly renderable Zdepth pass, with interactive depth range changes. Great for simulating atmospheric skies, aerial perspectives, etc.
I mean, without having to launch a full render. I usually add depth channel in my passes, but I also usually forget to setup the range correctly, and if I haven't saved the images as thea.img in my batch renders(as I usually use psd), the depth channel is pretty unusable. So, as an afterthought, I load my thea.img and recalculate the Zdepth pass but these thea.img files are sooooooooo heavy on my SSD. In general, I tend to save as thea.img and when the project is finished, I wipe them out.
