I'm not so sure that such threads as these will achieve anything. It is obvious that Solid Iris is monitoring these forums, as for example there was an issue about forum access raised on 10th November and Christine replied just a few hours later (allowing for the time difference between USA and Greece). I am sure that Solid Iris (or Altair) is aware of the users' concerns, especially after the previous 11 page thread which is now locked.
As Kim Frederik has stated there are NDAs in place, and information will be provided as and when Solid Iris (or Altair) feel that it is right to do so. I don't think we as customers can (or should) influence that.
I am an amateur modeller and renderer. My livelihood does not depend on a Thea roadmap. However, I know that a lot of you are professionals who use Thea in your work, and who have established experience and material repositories based on Thea, and time invested in learning and using Thea, and for you I guess the future roadmap and longevity of Thea is critical.
But, being a professional engineer, if I was using a tool in my work (which is basically what Thea is) which did not perform as I wanted or needed, then I would look for one that did.
But apart from the oft-reported noise issue which can apparently be corrected by rolling back to an earlier version if you have not yet updated your graphics card, is there anything which actually negates the value of Thea as it is now?
