i am very much close to giving up on this . is it too early ? is it ok that i did not get at least 1 sell in 500 views ?
It's only been a few days, give it some time. As others say, this is the type of content that people buy when they need it.

I see three important things for you to have chance to succeed:
1. Make high-quality content ready to be used/rendered out-of-the-box.
2. Make enough content for people to find the right trees that they need in their scene.
3. Visibility

You have fulfilled n°1. Your content is high-quality, no doubt. Although, as Rombout mentioned, it might be good to offer proxy versions as well, so that people can use many of your trees in a single scene without the need to convert them to proxies.

N°2, you will build over time. The more choice you offer to visitors, the more likely they will come back when they have a specific need.

N°3, visibility, is a hard one to achieve. I'm afraid that there is no magic answer to that. You need to post about your products of many relevant sites. Try the Enscape and V-Ray forums. SketchUcation, SketchUp forums, Facebook groups, etc.
It may also help to sell your assets on other website with search engines, like Turbosquid and the likes.
Maybe create nice rendered scenes that showcase your trees, that you can then share on social media. People like to see assets in context and not just a single render of a single tree. For example, people sharing their renders using Laubwerk has been really helpful for Laubwerk, I think.

You're starting this business, you can't expect to succeed on the first day! Especially as you have competition.
I'd advise to wait a little bit longer before deciding to give up. Maybe in the end it will not work, but you can't know today. If you don't have anymore time to spare before you need this to bring you decent income, maybe you can do it on the side: your assets will remain online and ready to be bought if people need them. The key is to keep being active online to promote your work.

As for the OBJ and FBX export, i think if they have color and maps asigned thats already good. Most 3d applications will than import them properly with very basic materials. Its up to the user to then convert them to their engine of choice.

I always like these formats since it gives me more freedom in what app i can use them.
