Dear all,
here we have a new revision posted in the usual place:
http://www.thearender.com/forum/viewtop ... =61&t=1849
In this revision, clay rendering works correctly with user reflectance, takes into account material bump mapping and does not override zero-roughness materials (such as perfect dielectrics and glasses).
The key bindings on texture button & chip are the same as in RV341. Also, automatic clip mapping works now out of the box when you apply an image with alpha channel, say to diffuse component.
There are also some I/O improvements and fixes for the pivot of groups; now pivot saving is fixed and correctly taken into account in instancing brush.
Important: clients using 3dsMax plugin are kindly requested to wait until revision is linked from our website, or otherwise update to 0.4 version of the plugin.
best wishes

Yes, but some users may choose to throw away the dmg image, so manual should always be also accessible in the bundle contents.

true, but i would consider to only put inside the thea folder or seperate folder as i posted lately. We can't acces files in the thea app from thea itself. I think everybody deletes the dmg image cause you would get a lot of them when installing stuff and keeping them!

Although I'd like to keep it simple on Macs, we will think about a packaged installation. It's also needed for easy upgrade (without having to export/import licenses).

Updating to next revision for Thea is always good. The application updates
are not synchronized at the moment with the plugin updates. Generally
speaking you can update the application without updating the plugin,
that's ok, if you want.

Question - when you update, do you also update the manual to reflect any additions to the program? If so, I would recommend adding the version number to the front page of the manual. If no manual updates with version updates, why?giannis wrote:Updating to next revision for Thea is always good.
