To reduce bloom, you just have to reduce sun's intensity.

It also is a good idea to have bigger sun radius with fog.

At least tinkering with both will give great control of fog+sun effects.
It appears that the sun size and bloom is being controlled, or at least in relationship, by the fog settings themselves. I can't find in SketchUp or the plugin any way to manually change the size of the sun (which would be good if the fog is looking good, the sun should still be far on the horizon and much smaller). But, I am truly lost trying to understand these settings.

Rombout, no... SketchUp shadows are off and sun is not used for shading. However, yes, I do have manual sun so I could control exactly where the shadow lines would hit. But, as mentioned, it seems that the sun size is dependant (or unrelated to normal settings in my control) to the fog settings themselves.

As Beta testers, did you guys have any success with sundown, twilight hour sun with fog?
Is there yet a forum post that someone has already described some settings for such scenes?

I have NEVER SEEN THIS.... until tonight. Spent all night trying to figure out why I could not change the size of the sun. Turns out that "soft shadow" increases the size of the sun (something I've not observed in all the renders I've used it as it was always too far above to even think about!". Oh MY! Who knew?!?!!?

No wonder nothing I did elsewhere worked!!!

Good to know.

the sun is supposed to behave based on the location of model, so the sun size should mimic how it would look at that time of day in that location, maybe I'm wrong, I don't really care for the sun disc it can be a PITA at times

The sun would never work with global medium so this is new territory

Next time better read the comments. I was already asking if you had turned on soft shadows

Can you run Thea Client okay?

I use my Macbook as a node but now the Thea Client, Darkroom, Material Lab functions don't load.

They're fine when i revert to the 1455 version.
