Usually centered is in the background IBL slot, I don't think I've ever had it in any other, I'll have to keep an eye out. I thought it was only me with a haunted pc lol
If its an old scene you need to reset the sun/sky, maybe why it came out brighter?

nigec: thanks for the reply.
Yeah I see - in the background slot "center" would make sense. That's why I wonder if there's a kind of leftover in the IBL slot. Or maybe the XSI exporter is setting a wrong tag? I'll investigate.
As for the Sun/Sky: The scene did only use IBL, nothing else, so I don't think that's it.
I'll try more scenes tomorrow.
Cheers,
Thomas Helzle

i love the new sun sky tweaks you have made! it has less of the pink hue!!
but i think i have 2 problems now...
1) i love showing the sun disk on my renders, especially for dusk shots.. for that reason, i use the TR2 engine, since TR1 dont work with sun disc yet
. anyways.. if i export from SU using the SU2T plugin, the disc dont show up in the render. u have to manually delete the sun and add another within thea itself.
2) the sun discs whether added in thea or exported from SU dont work when there is an infinity plane in the scene.
PS. Maybe i should put this in the BUGS section?

Yes!! It is expected and we had to make a similar change ourselves for the IBL advanced simulation scene.ThomasHelzle wrote: One image came up extremely much more bright than before using IBL only.
I had to set ISO to about 30 instead of 100 to get it to a similar brightness as before.
Is that to be expected from the calibration you did?
This is indeed a wrapping but for Background Image only. Hmm... it could be done if you accidentallyThomasHelzle wrote: It seems that sometimes HDRIs in the IBL slot snap to a Wrapping called "Center" that isn't in the list but exists sometimes when I start a new scene. Does that ring any bells?
Is it possible that there is some forgotten "ghost wrapping" left in Thea?
drag & drop the Center value from the Background wrapping slot to any other IBL wrapping slot.
This won't cause any instability but will blacken the IBL, so I wonder how that ghost image looks like?

best wishes

This could be the case as well, i.e. something in the source XML file.ThomasHelzle wrote:Or maybe the XSI exporter is setting a wrong tag? I'll investigate.

Hold on a moment... is the sun brightness the correct one? If yes, the disc (assuming TR2) should appear on the render, no?jenujacob wrote: 1) i love showing the sun disk on my renders, especially for dusk shots.. for that reason, i use the TR2 engine, since TR1 dont work with sun disc yet. anyways.. if i export from SU using the SU2T plugin, the disc dont show up in the render. u have to manually delete the sun and add another within thea itself.
Can you send the scene?
You mean it does not appear on the infinite plane?jenujacob wrote: 2) the sun discs whether added in thea or exported from SU dont work when there is an infinity plane in the scene.

hi G,
i think Problem 1 was false alarm... i tried the scene today and its working properly.. SU sun works fine as exported.. i guess it was because i didnt restart my system after installing RC3.
all is well in that department!!! sorry again!!!!
Now regarding Problem 2 :
Infinity plane = enabled

Infinity plane = disabled

It's always good to avoid infinity plane. You can find a set of basic primitives here http://www.thearender.com/forum/viewtop ... =93&t=3738
